So one can now state that all HX competing planes are airworthy. There has been some concerns about Gripens ability to meet the HX deadlines. But it seems SAAB is keeping her on track. SAAB press release about the flight.
Quick recap of the Seinäjoki Airshow 2017

The HX-program the “combat proven” consept
Being “Combat proven” used to mean a whole lot, but like all good consepts, it has suffered from inflation. In 1950’ies era planes, MiG-15s and Sabres it meant quite a lot as it did with MiG-21s and Phantoms. They did, … Continue reading

The Police reserve and “unidentifiable military troops”
Finnish “Aluevalvonta laki”, Area control law ja “Rikoslaki”, criminal law, have been out of date. There has been a hole of a size of a “little green man” in these laws. Cabinet will be giving proposal that should plug this … Continue reading

News about Grendel
After Yesterdays post, I looked what is going on on the 6,5mm Grendel page. Noticed that Serbian Army has, supposedly, chosen it as their new catridge. I haven’t found a confirmation though. I’ll be on it though. Repost 24.4.2017. So … Continue reading

Hybrid warfare center, and Putin’s chief ideolog’s coincidental lecture in Helsinki
Finnish Putin’s go-to guy Johan Backman did a hybrid warfare gig in Helsinki yesterday. This happened “just co-incidentally” and had nothing to do with signin the documents for Finnish hybrid warfare center with EU and other western powers. (in Iltalehti and in … Continue reading

Dassault Rafale not interrested or ready to throw in the towel?
I have been most disappointed with the Dassault’s quietness in the HX-Program of Finland. Swedish SAAB and Eurofighter consortium have been very active in there campaign to secure procurement for about 60 to 100 of their planes for Finish Air Force. … Continue reading
